Not Your King

They heard me yell,
ignored my call.
My hand to take,
they watched me fall.
They watched me break,
they saw me bruised.
My heart to save, and
my love to lose.
Their smirks so smug,
I asked to stay.
They laughed at me,
then said, “Go away.”
Demons dance
while angels sing.
It’s okay to run
they’re not your king.
I took my chance,
I took them all.
And now it’s time
to watch me crawl.
You saw me break,
yet no longer bruised.
I was afraid to win
until I had to lose.
Faith built strong,
steady upon my back,
The burdens I carry
like my favorite rucksack.
Demons dance
while angels sing.
You’ve done it now
you are the King.
Glasses shattered
while skin broke,
Dragged by hair,
with hands to choke.
Blood-drenched rocks
with dusty hair.
They call it suicide
not right, not fair.
Our shadows dance,
no time to save.
They cheated me,
then dug my grave.
Demons dance
while angels sing.
Let this love go
he’s not your king.
Expectations shattered
while curses broke
,Moved by mountains,
no fear to choke.
My life to save,
I saved myself.
In present days,
I’ve walked through hell.
Spirit says
I rode the waves
To find my breath
beyond the grave.
Demons dance
while angels sing.
Congratulations
you are your King.
Trust was broken,
yet still I craved
To be reborn,
a new path to pave.
I asked to stay
and was told to leave.
With weightless words, i
t is their soul I grieve.
Tears like diamonds,
they took them all.
House of cards,
I watched us fall.
Angels dance
while demons cry.
It’s not your kingdom
let this one die.
Trust is building
from within these walls.
As I trust myself,
the less I fall.
I choose to try,
with faith to fly,
With my courageous heart
to the next part.
So now I’ve gone,
I took my leap.
Now in this life,
it is my soul I keep.
Demons sing
while angels dance.
You are the King,
and this is your chance.
