My Softest Hue of Blue

My softest hue of blue
Your hottest shade of red
Dancing through the garden,
Removing what is dead.
Burning away the old,
Watering what is new,
Green surrounds my heart,
And now it beats for you.
Grounding roots into the earth,
Flowering to the sky,
Washing our hands clean,
Our spirits will never die.
A story carved in stone,
Protected by the trees,
Your waters healed my spirit
While my fire set yours free.
You are the sparkle in my eye,
A goodnight lullaby.
You are the stars in the sky,
A good-time alibi.
You’re the gentle sound of nature,
You are the river’s mighty roar.
You are the wind beneath my wings,
You are the reason why I soar.
You are a deer in my headlights,
A peace bow in the air,
A sacred awareness,
A whispered vow of care.
A story carved in stone,
Protected by the trees,
Your waters healed my spirit
While my fire set yours free.
Your hottest shade of red,
My softest hue of blue,
I was dancing in the garden
And stopped when I saw you.
I’m grounding roots into the earth,
Flowering to the sky,
As our spirits dance,
We can finally see why.
We were burning away the old
And watering what is new,
As vines surround my heart,
My spirit flies with you.
